Diary & Events

Diary – January/February 2012

Unless otherwise stated all activities are held in Dove Cottage, 39 High Street, Debenham (just inside St. Mary’s churchyard).

Special note: we are asking if there is anyone who might like to join a small monthly lunch club – see below.

January
Tuesday January 3rd at 10.30am: Fit Club
This is about making life easier for all who may be “over 60” and, perhaps, just “a bit stiff in the joints” or “a bit out of puff”. What a difference can be made with some simple exercises that we can do whilst sitting in a chair – removing stress, reducing pain, improving posture, and so on. It’s gentle and fun - not at all about “no gain without pain” – and you can do it at home - less of the gym and more of the lounge!
Tuesday January 3rd at 2.00pm: CAMEO
Tea and fun activities - exercises for the mind and the body - try it - you can join in or just have a chat.
Wednesday January 4th at 2.00pm: Carers Club
It’s just like an afternoon tea party and the cakes are stupendous! – Sara Mellor (Age UK) will be there to give confidential advice, provide information, or just have a chat

As well as the above, we have 3 Food ‘n’ Friends lunch clubs – each meeting every month. These offer an opportunity for a carer with the person they care for to enjoy a “family” style lunch where they can relax and enjoy meeting others without any concerns – everyone is aware of the difficulties that carers face and is more than happy to help and to share. They are usually held in the host’s home and are small in their membership – 4, 6, or 8 guests. Our current clubs are full at present and we are currently thinking about setting up a 4th club early in the year – if you feel that this is something you might like to try, either as a guest or as a host/helper, please let us know as soon as possible (01728 862003).

Happy New Year, Lynden
